Mediation

Conflict Coaching

Mediation needs two willing people. Conflict coaching does not. It is one-to-one work for the situation where the other party has refused to sit down, or where you simply need to walk into a hard conversation better prepared than you are now.

Who this is for

—   You have a conversation coming with a manager, a co-parent, a sibling or a landlord and you already know how it usually goes

—   You are stuck in a dispute where the other person will not engage

—   You keep escalating, or keep going silent, and neither is working

—  You are a manager holding a conflict between two people on your team

What we actually do

We map the dispute — what you want, what you are afraid of, what the other person is likely defending. Then we rehearse. Out loud. Including the versions where they interrupt you, or cry, or walk out. Most people find the rehearsal is the part that changes the outcome.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, and many people need only two or three.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this therapy?

No. It is focused, practical work on one dispute. If it becomes clear that something deeper is driving it, we will say so and can refer you to a therapist on our team.

Can you coach both sides?

No. Coaching one party means we cannot then act as a neutral mediator between you. If both of you are willing, mediation is the better option.
